Danish Film Festival in Kazanlak

Last week in January 2020 you have a chance to watch a collection of interesting Danish movies during the film festival in the youth center in Kazanlak. A diverse selection of documentaries, feature films, and one comedy animation targets different audiences and shows a new point of view on the Danish culture. All projections are free of charge with original dialogues and English subtitles. 

Monday 27th – Four Letters Apart – Children  in the Age of ADHD

The projection starts at 7 pm
A documentary about a Danish school implementing alternative therapies for children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. 

Tuesday 28th – Marco Macaco

The projection starts at 4 pm
Comedy animation about Marco, who must join forces with a motley crew of monkey pirates and set out on an action-packed rescue mission.

Wednesday 29th – Royal Affair 

The projection starts at 7 pm
Historical drama. A young queen, who is married to an insane king, falls secretly in love with her physician – and together they start a revolution that changes a nation forever.

Thursday 30th – Sex, Drugs & Taxation

The projection starts at 7 pm
A drama based on true events. Two notorious and provocative figures of modern Danish history, Spies and Glistrup, provide a radical view on liberty through money, sex, and drugs.

Friday 31st – The Human Scale

The projection starts at 7 pm
How to build a city where everybody wants to live? The Danish architect Jan Gehl tries to find the answer.

The Danish Film Festival is organized by international volunteers from the Mutual Aid in cooperation with the Kazanlak municipality and the Danish embassy in Bulgaria. The project is co-funded by the European Solidarity Corps program that allows young people to get professional experience abroad and rise up their chances in the labor market.
