Celebrating Earth Day under the motto “Our Energy, Our Planet”
Primary School “Mati Bulgaria” and the association “Youth Center for Development – Mutual Aid” organized a presentation of the national parks of Georgia, Turkey, and Bulgaria on the occasion of Earth Day in Kazanlak. On two dates, April 15th and 22nd, 2025, volunteers from Georgia and Turkey, as well as 7th-grade students from the school, presented the national parks of the three countries. On April 15th, marking the closing of “Forest Week,” volunteers from the Community Center “Osвобождение-1884” in Sheynovo village presented the national parks of Turkey, while volunteers from the “Youth Center for Development – Mutual Aid” and United Avangard Artist under the “European Solidarity Corps” program presented the national parks of Georgia.

Today, on April 22nd, we celebrated Earth Day with youth through the project “Eco Academy 2024-2025” of the Erasmus+ program, where 7th-grade students talked about the national parks of Bulgaria, including Central Balkan National Park. It is one of the three national parks in the Republic of Bulgaria and is located in the Central Stara Planina mountain range. The altitude varies between 500 and 2376 meters, with the lowest point near Karlovo and the highest being Botev Peak, the highest peak in the Stara Planina. Nine reserves are declared within the National Park, covering an area of over 20,000 hectares.
All participants together planted two pine trees in front of the school entrance. This year’s motto, which we honored, was “Our Energy, Our Planet,” and the campaign theme called for maximizing the potential of renewable energy to build a healthy, sustainable, and fair future for all people. In it, 192 countries and over one billion people worldwide participate.
