Inspiring Cultural, Economics, and Global Affairs Dialogue
On March 19, 2025, we had the pleasure of returning to the “English Adventure Language School” to engage in another dialogue. This mutually enriching dialogue focused on the current state of the economy and the nation’s integration into the Eurozone.
The majority of students expressed support for joining the Eurozone, citing statistical evidence that it will refresh the national economy. We discussed the 2008 financial crisis in Greece as a case study, exploring how Greece’s membership in the Eurozone provided a vital safety net that prevented total bankruptcy.
The conversation then shifted toward current events in the Middle East, specifically the war involving Iran, Israel, and the USA. We discussed the escalation that began three weeks ago and how it affects global petroleum prices due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which is responsible for 20% of the total global trade in petroleum products. The consensus was clear: peace is the priority.
The goal of these discussions was to:
- Encourage students to look beyond their immediate surroundings.
- Help them develop their own informed opinions on economics and politics.
- Move beyond textbooks to understand a real-world “circle of thinking.”
Special emphasis was placed on European Union – funded programs such as the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), in which, we are participating, and Erasmus +. These programs are designed to maximize intellectual potential and provide life-changing international experiences.
This interaction also served as a practical workshop for language discussion. It was inspiring to see both us and the students actively communicating in English. During this second visit, we noticed a significant decrease in non confidec, students were more eager to share their opinions.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the teacher, Petya, and all the of the students that participate, for their warm welcomeing and their willingness to communicate.
