VOLUNTEERING YOUTH TODAY

The Youth in Georgia

I am Nino Liparteliani, volunteer for project „Eco Energy 2 in Bulgaria“ from Georgia. Georgia is a small country with different, talented and funny people.  Georgians have strength and desire for freedom in nature, we have been fighting for independence since time immemorial, and 1 Georgian bravely dealt with 10 enemies.  Our future generation is also like this: militant, strong, independent and educated.

Georgian youths are very different in every corner, but respect for family is common to all of them. Also, young people are very good at sports.  Our young athletes are famous all over the world.  Lasha Bekauri – Olympic champion in judo, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – Napoli football player, Lasha Talakhadze – Georgian weightlifter who broke many world records, Aleksandre Tsivtsivadze – rower 3-time European champion, Ilia Topuria – lightweight fighter champion and many others.  Also the Georgian model – Matilda Gvarliani – who appears at the show of such famous brands as Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, etc.  Giorgi Gigashvili – a pianist who is the winner of many international competitions, Mariam Jugheli, Lizi Ukleba, Saba Khaburzania, Nino Kutivadze and Lizi Charekishvili are young inventors whose project „SAFE SPACE“ ensures humidity in the room and gives the possibility to control the light intensity.  Sofio Chikhladze – who, together with other young Georgian inventors, was at the University of the NASA Space Center, which project is accelerating the testing of medicines.

Young people are motivated to make our country a member of the European Union and are working hard in this direction.  They are involved in political issues and we have a lot of hope for them in this direction. A lot of Georgians are studing in the best european universities.

Along with these jobs and successes, our young people spend their evenings in beautiful places of the country with different activities.

Ultimately, Georgia has strong, educated and independent youth who is a hope for a bright future.  From science to sports, they are interested in all fields and achieve success.  They are trying to show their country on the world stage as much as possible and introduce its rich culture and ancient history to the world.

The role of young people in the development and progress of our country is very great. You know that we are from Georgia, from the country where I will always say with pride that the most fighting free, brave, talented young people live, who love their homeland very much and do everything for us to live in a free country. I will give an example from the recent news: everyone knows that the Georgian government is now going to introduce the so-called “Russian” law in Georgia, which is a very painful topic and should be brought to the heart of all young and old. They, with united forces, are trying to eliminate all this through actions, rallies and other peaceful ways. I think that the strongest, greatest force in our country is the youth, because we are the future of our country. We can change and move forward for our country, for its well-being, and we do it all together.

We all have our role and our mission, towards which we go with great hope and love, with the spirit that unites us all. This is one thing and it is the love of the motherland. Young people in Georgia are involved in a wide range of activities, just like young people in any other country. Too many young people continue their education independently, whether at universities or vocational training programs abroad. Too many take on a lot of responsibility, working full-time, part-time or doing internships from a very young age to gain experience and earn extra money. In addition, I would also like to emphasize how they are involved in various international projects. Socially, they are involved in sports, music, art or volunteering. And of course, like young people everywhere, many are actively involved in social media as well. Love for the homeland is a deep-rooted and strong feeling among Georgian youth.

They are proud of their country’s rich history, diverse cultural heritage and contributions to art, literature, music and cuisine, and strive to innovate.

Georgia, a country known for its rich culture and breathtaking landscapes, is also home to a vibrant generation of young people who are actively contributing to positive change in their communities and beyond. From bustling cities to remote villages, Georgian youth are stepping up to address pressing issues such as environmental conservation, social equality, and education. Through innovative initiatives and tireless dedication, they are making a significant impact on the world around them. In the realm of environmental activism, young Georgians are leading the charge towards a more sustainable future. Initiatives like Eco Energy 2024, in which I am privileged to participate, showcase the passion and commitment of Georgian youth to protect our planet. Through projects focused on reducing, reusing, and recycling, we are not only cleaning up our environment but also inspiring others to take action. Moreover, Georgian youth are actively engaged in social causes, advocating for equality and justice. Whether it’s through volunteer work, community organizing, or raising awareness on social media, young people are amplifying their voices to bring about positive change. In the realm of education, Georgian youth are embracing innovation and entrepreneurship to create opportunities for themselves and others. With a growing startup culture and a focus on technology, young Georgians are harnessing their creativity and skills to drive economic growth and development.Despite facing challenges, including economic uncertainty and political instability, young people in Georgia remain resilient and hopeful. They possess a strong sense of identity and pride in their country’s rich history, while also embracing the diversity of perspectives and experiences that shape their generation. As we look towards the future, the potential of young people in Georgia is limitless. With their energy, enthusiasm, and determination, they are poised to create a brighter tomorrow for themselves, their communities, and the world at large. In addition to their ongoing efforts in various fields, young people in Georgia are also actively engaged in advocating for their rights and freedoms. Recent protests have erupted in response to proposed legislation, including the controversial “agent law,” which has sparked concerns about privacy and freedom of expression. Despite facing challenges, young Georgians are uniting to defend their democratic values and ensure a future where their voices are heard and respected.
