“Sharp your Mind”
The next mobility under the “Erasmus +” program, in which a team of NGO “Youth Development Center – Mutual Aid” took part, took place from September 1 to 8 in Murzasichle, Poland. The youth exchange called “Sharp your Mind”, with the host organization “Aktywni Kreatywni”, aimed to raise awareness about mental health and reveal techniques for better interpersonal communication for the benefit of the 30 young people from 7 countries who took part in the project.
Participants went through activities to get to know each other and improve group dynamics in the first days, which included a visit to the nearby city of Zakopane, known as the “winter capital” of Poland. Young people got to know him by taking part in a surprise walk, working in a team and looking for answers to questions related to the city.
After the first days of the project, the participants gradually got into the topic. The introductory activities were related to the main problems faced by young people regarding their mental health, with the main task being to find ways to overcome them. In the work, the methods of non-formal education typical of the Erasmus + program were used. In groups, the participants put into practice what they had learned.
On one of the days, the participants went for a walk in Poland’s Tatra National Park, which encouraged their socializing and physical activity, and also brought to light the idea of the connection between good physical and mental health.
Intercultural evenings were held typical of the Erasmus+ programme. Each national team presented local cuisine, sights, customs and traditions.
The participants from Bulgaria represented our country properly and were active participants in the mobility. The team selected by the “Youth Development Center – Mutual Aid” received high praise for its work.
