Inspiring Cultural Dialogue: Broadening Horizons through the ESC Program at the English Adventure Language Center – Kazanlak
On November 20, 2025, as part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC)
program, Ayşe (from Turkey) and Marwan (from Egypt) held an in-depth
cultural dialogue with the center’s students. The mutually enriching meeting was
dedicated to presenting the history, landscapes, cuisine, culture, and traditions
of Turkey and Egypt. This visit is in direct line with the center’s commitment to
quality education, in line with the latest global trends and innovative methods.
The dialogue not only presented exotic cultures but also served as a
motivational platform for young people. Ayşe and Marwan shared personal
moments related to the reasons for being in Bulgaria, the activities they are
doing there during the volunteering program, and their motivation for joining
such programs. Special emphasis was placed on the interest of the students in
European programs such as the ESC and Erasmus +, which aim to
maximize their intellectual potential by sharing tasks in different countries.

This direct contact played a role in increasing the confidence of both visitors
and students in actively speaking English, demonstrating how a common
language can be utilized, even though none of the participants are from Bulgaria
During the visit, the exceptional level of skill and diligence exhibited by the
students at the center was observed. These results are directly attributable to the
students’ hard work and the contributions of their excellent teacher, Petya Kundurzhieva.
A valuable moment of the meeting was the revelation that the teacher also
speaks some Arabic. This demonstrates not only professional competence but
also openness to global cultural exchange.
We, the volunteers, would like to express our deep gratitude to YDCMA for the
opportunity to hold this inspiring cultural dialogue. Special thanks go to the
teacher and the students who actively participated, for their warm welcome and
willingness to communicate.
