How do the young people have fun in your Country? – Amy Durand

As some of you may know it is from Latin civilizations that the word “Culture” is derived. The Bank Holidays, in each country are deriving from a desire to honor the National memory and keep it alive. As a sample in France the 14th of July and the 15th of August are the most cheerful national party days of the year. Both are linked to the World Wars. Every French habitant will undoubtly take part in these.

Any Nationals has a special memory from the 14th of July National Celebrations; a first kiss, or to the beginning of life lasting friendships…

Another National day appreciated by the youngsters is “La Fête de la Musique” celebrating music by bringing it on the streets once a year. The Easter Fun Fair is another example of timeless patriotic manifestation; but modernity made us leave the religious meaning of this day apart.

Out of these punctual dates the French Youth is quite active when it is about to take action and squeeze good memories out of dreadful bore…

Any group of French Youngsters will naturally take the initiative to go for an afternoon trying out Slack line, Canoe-Kayak, Picnics … Playing darts, or pool on a Pub are very common hobbies. Simple things are often the most flavorsome after all.

The youth is often enjoying local venues such as Street Festivals consisting of Theatre, Itinerant story-telling, and Puppet Shows.During this event the street becomes the artists’ stage.

There is invariably Music Festivals declining various concepts and universes occurring at summertime all over the country.

More exceptionally extreme Sports events, Artistic and Crafts Festivals are taking place. (Autograph Session on skateboards, Collaborative Graffiti Session, Introduction to Craft Techniques …)

On a regular basis the French Youngsters are exploring their own interest and enriching themselves through different practices according to what is available in our area …

Most of the teenagers are trying themselves at composing music, writing novels, contemporaneous dances, Horse riding, Sport teams … When after 18 years old some youngsters are trying themselves to Homemade beer brewing, hiking with a donkey on the Stevenson Path, Wild Camping or hitchhiked trips.
