Two Erasmus+ Training Courses for Youth Workers

Two trainings for youth workers will take place from June 12 to June 22, 2026, at the International Youth Center – Stara Zagora, organized by the association “Youth Development Center – Mutual Aid” under the Erasmus+ program.

The trainings will gather young people from different European countries who will exchange knowledge, experience, and ideas on current topics such as ecology, sustainable development, media literacy, and volunteering.

Project “Ecology in the Media”

Main objective
To provide youth workers with basic skills and practical experience in using media, visual thinking, and graphic facilitation methods in their work with young people.

What is visual thinking
A way of organizing ideas that improves thinking, communication, and project presentation abilities.

Conceptual foundation
All activities will be based on the philosophy of “Zero Waste,” thereby demonstrating in practice our care for nature and our pursuit of a sustainable lifestyle.

Participating countries – Romania, Czechia, Bulgaria, and Greece.

Key themes and outcomes

  • Raising awareness of contemporary environmental challenges.
  • Exploring the concept of “ecology as a lifestyle” – waste reduction, sustainable consumption, minimalism, and eco-conscious habits.
  • Exchanging good practices among participating countries regarding sustainable living.
  • Empowering young people with practical skills: composting, zero waste methods, upcycling, eco-friendly crafts, and making natural products.
  • Encouraging active citizenship and engagement in environmental protection.
  • Creating media content or campaigns to spread ecological messages.

Project “S.O.S. 4”

Main objective
To develop the skills and competences of youth workers related to first aid provision, risk management, and coping with difficult situations.

Training approach
Experienced trainers will provide participants with the necessary information and help them improve their abilities through the methods of non-formal and informal education.

Expected outcomes after the training

  • Youth workers will acquire deeper knowledge about protecting the people they work with.
  • They will be better prepared to prevent risky situations.
  • They will gain tools to raise awareness on these topics among other members of their organizations.

Participating countries – Portugal, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Italy, and Bulgaria.
