VOLUNTEERING

“Media and Volunteering” Erasmus+ Project

Participants from four partner organizations – from Bulgaria, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Romania – gathered in Pamporovo for a youth exchange under the Erasmus+ Programme on the theme “Media and Volunteering.”

The seminar will last seven working days, during which methods, knowledge, experiences, approaches, and ideas will be shared on how to promote the visibility of volunteering in European society. A special focus is placed on the role of local and international volunteering and its representation in the media.

The main goals of the exchange include:

  • providing space for sharing experiences and good practices in preparing volunteering initiatives;
  • developing skills in writing news and creating objective and up-to-date content;
  • recognizing and countering fake news;
  • using volunteering as a tool to increase the visibility of NGOs;
  • creating tools and institutionalized methods that can be easily shared and replicated in other organizations, networks, and platforms.

Volunteering can be defined as an altruistic activity that brings positive change to people, their communities, and society as a whole. To be a volunteer means freedom of spirit, new friendships, challenges, unforgettable memories, and adventure. It is encouraging to see that more and more people are choosing to help others and to leave a mark through their good deeds.
