A zombie greeted the French volunteer

UNITED AVANGARD ARTIST took part in welcoming a European volunteer under the program of the national center for European Youth Programs and Initiatives, and due to an invitation by YDCMA. The idea came up spontaneously while UNITED AVANGARD ARTIST and YDCMA were developing a project together. On the 20th of May 2010 the volunteer was welcomed at Sofia Airport. Immediately after the shocking welcome the volunteer Agathe Ferrand from the French town Bordeaux was greeted by Megan Lueneberg, a volunteer from the Peace corps, and Krasimir Tsanev, a chairman at YDCMA. They all soon found a common tongue with the newcomer and during an improvised lunch at a roadside restaurant the welcoming became even more colorful as the group was joined by the Bulgarian rock star Milena which was intrigued by the not so ordinarily looking group.

Information about EVS:
The European Voluntary Service (EVS) gives people between the ages of 18 and 30 the opportunity to take part in international voluntary activities in and out of the EU.

What EVS is not:
– an unregulated and unplanned voluntary activity
– an internship in a non profit organization
– an alternative for a job position
– a tourist activity
– a language course
– an activity that can bring you personal financial profits

An incredible interest was shown by members of UNITED AVANGARD ARTIST. These young people discovered by chance that a picture of theirs was part of a banner with changing pictures at EVS’ website. The picture was taken at one of their first meetings, and we still don’t know how exactly but it made its way to the website. Everyone took it as a compliment.
